For the letter D, I didn’t want to go the sort of the more obvious routes of “Destroy,” or “Destruction,” for a couple of reasons.
They seemed like really obvious ideas so I wanted to avoid them
2. I was really trying to make these animations calming, and more relaxing to watch loop.
3. Trying to loop a gif of destruction, without just playing it in reverse, or simply panning to a new letter was almost impossible. So I had to find a new idea.
Luckily my fiancée’s current obsession with the Bee Gees quickly popped another idea in my head, and then everything sort of came together in a lovely little “aha!” moment.
